Maria Valdez is a writer/director/producer from Los Angeles. She was one of eighteen students selected into the prestigious UCLA film school and is currently in the third year of the MFA Directing program. She is also a graduate of Cal State University, Fullerton having received two B.A.’s, one in Journalism and the other in Cinema & Television.
Maria has been selected twice into the prestigious NALIP Producers Academy and is presently participating in the Women in Film’s Mentoring Program. She’s currently in development on two projects; Home, and Sanctuary City. Maria’s stories, whether they're comedies, drama's or action films, all capture the universal human experiences. Her short “Camping” is currently playing at several film festivals across the country.
