Hugo Castro (MX)

Hugo Abel has been a video game fanatic since the early days of console and computer games. Even though he didn't have a chance to learn how to make video games, he always knew he was going to be part of the industry.

In 2007, he decided to create opportunities for young students that he did not have, and began working on an initiative to boost the video game development industry in Mexico. That initiative was called “Gamacon”, and it is now one of the most important initiatives in Mexico with the aim of creating business opportunities for Mexican studios, helping universities to complement their academic programs, and promoting Mexican art and culture.

Hugo Abel is also founder and director of the incubator and production house of digital creative media "BC Media Lab", director of Partnerships for the North American company Hyperkinetic Studios in Los Angeles, CA, and has been a panelist at the San Diego Comic Con International in the last years.
